How is Hurricane Ike Affecting the Houston Texans?

Aaron Rodgers Jersey Youth, \"You work hard to have the American dream, nice house, a car, two dogs and a cat. To see it all destroyed, is kind of disheartening. But you got to pick yourself back up.\" stated Texans defensive tackle Travis Johnson. Whose home was destroyed in the unremarkable hurricane that occurred on Saturday September 13, 2008. Johnson and Aaron Rodgers Jersey Youth his family had to take refuge in the closet as their roof came off and ceiling collapse. You would think he wouldn\'t be able to attend practice the following Tuesday after his home was destroyed. But, Travis Johnson has what you call courage he\'s not disheartened or distracted. He feels this is what bought him the house in the first place and all he can do is move on and be glad that he was able to get out alive.

There were other Houston Texans players whose house was damage but none were as bad as Travis Johnson. Defensive End Mario Williams brand new Memorial-area home was bashed through by a pine and the roof of his mother had flown off. You think he would just be distraught after having Aaron Rodgers Jersey Youth nearly having everything ruined in his and his mother house but he still has his faith like Travis Johnson, you just got to move on. Owner of the Houston Texans Bob McNair was not excluded from being hit by hurricane Ike, he lost power and some of his old trees from his property were brushed away except for a couple that landed on his roof top. Nair stated \"The breadth of the storm was as big as the state of Texas. We\'d never experience anything like this. All we have to do is clean up debris and repair our houses, but the people in Galveston and the Bolivar Peninsula took the brunt of it, they had people who had actually lost their lives. But everyone has come together and like the old saying goes, you don\'t appreciate the water until the well goes dry\"

As for Tight End Owen Daniels, whose house was like a refuge for some players also was faced with a couple of hits to his house. Daniels house suffered with big holes in his ceiling and ruined carpet but never lost electricity. \"With my guest room ruined the only place people could sleep was on the couches downstairs\" stated Daniels. Daniels wasn\'t the only player that refuge players whose has as suffered because of the result of the storm. Receiver Andre Johnson and Backup Quarterback Sage Rosenfels also open their homes to refuge players. The players have been staying close to each other because all they can do is help each other out in this time of need.

As the days move on and progress, the players have talked with the New Orleans Saints Aaron Rodgers Jersey Youth who know all about being a hurricane survival. The Texans have asked the Saints how they stay focus knowing that everything is basically gone and you have to start all over. Being able to play, thinking about is your family going to be okay, and where will you rebuild. These are the thing that are running through these players minds but as all of them have said this is their job. Playing football is what got them these big houses, cars, and other expensive things, so basically they have no choice but to move on if they want to make their money.

It is very remarkable to see how these players have through this hurricane but I know one thing their glad is wasn\'t nothing like Hurricane Katrina. At least the Texans still have a city to go to even though some of them may not have any electricity. The Texans have all come together to support one another through their time in need because no one was spared during the hurricane. Prays go out to the Texans and their family plus other individuals who were affected by Hurricane Ike. As a native of Texas I have never seen anything like this before all my city received was rain and I thank god that all we got but, as McNair stated we were not hit as bad as Galveston and Bolivar Peninsula who basically lost everything plus lives. So this is a time for us to all come together to show all the evacuees all the support we can by donating all that we can. I know going from shelter to shelter is real hard on all of them because there is one thing that\'s going through their entire mind \"There\'s No Place like Home\"
